The Science Museum
This
week Discovery Summer Family London visited the Science Museum. The
trip was running on Tuesday and Wednesday. Each classes visited one
exhibition linked to the subject they are studying this week!
There
are lots of interesting exhibitions on at the science museum at the
moment, including The History of Medicine, which Tania's group went to
see. Space, where Lisa's group went. 'The Rubbish Collection', a thought provoking temporary exhibition consisting
of all the rubbish thrown away in the science museum over 30 days which Tony's group had a look at. As well
as the exhibition Chloe's group visited 'Stranger than fiction'.
Lisa's class had a look at the permanent space exhibition...
Here they are filling in their worksheets next to a model of Apollo 11...
Looking at Earth from space...
Tony's class visited 'The Rubbish Collection' as this week they are learning about materials and recycling!
All of the rubbish from the science museum collected over 30 days was displayed...
Worksheet complete!
After having a look around the exhibition, and filling in their worksheets, there was time to visit the 'Launchpad' part of the exhibition, an interactive area where the class could examine more materials...
As well as play some games!
The students only visited one exhibition with their class and there is so much more too see! If they would like to go again, to see other parts of the Science Museum, or for more information about exhibitions please have a look at the Science Museum's website: http://www.sciencemuseum.org.uk/home.aspx
