It is hard to believe that we have completed one week of Discovery Summer already here at Collingham! Last Friday, all of the students had the opportunity to showcase the projects that they had been working on to their parents and classmates. Many of our students finished their courses last week and we would like to wish them well. We hope that they enjoyed their experience here and we hope to see many of them back next summer!
Below are some videos and photos of some of the fantastic presentations given by the students of the projects that they completed throughout the week:
All of the presentations were based on the trip that they had to the Science Museum on Tuesday.
The first week of Discovery Summer wasn't all about the projects though - the students had periods of time outside of class where they would mingle with other students and staff. In this time, they played games and had conversations that helped them to practice their English speaking skills outside of the classroom and to develop their confidence too!

Emelia's class displayed their English speaking skills by doing a play for us! They showed us what it would be like to try and book a flight to Mars at the travel agents.
Ella's class showed us their knowledge of body parts and colours by building some very cool robots.
Juilia's class showed off their new vocabulary by presenting to their families their "Crazy Kitchens" with all kinds of weird and wonderful objects inside them!
Abbi's class showed us their their moves with a dance that they used to learn the different parts of the body.
Tania's class educated us on some scientific trivia with a quiz that created some competition between parents and students...
... and we had the pleasure of having an exclusive interview with Neil Armstrong (which was really Illarion with a space pack on).,
Rory's class presented their vehicles of the future.
Kathy's class wrote articles about the vehicles.
We had a great turnout of family and friends who came to watch the presentations! We would like to thank you all for coming!
